Weekend Review – 28th/29th April

News/events

Saturday (League):

1st XI lost to Greenmount by 3 wickets

A hugely frustrating afternoon where, having been put in to bat in a match reduced to 32 overs per side, we struggled to 100/9 (Jordan Williams 26*), before the visitors got home with 4 overs to spare.

Sunday (Cup):

2nd XI beat Swinton Moorside by 5 wickets

A more positive “spin” to the 2nd half of the weekend, and lots of positive spin from Jody Clough (10-3-15-3), as we dismissed the hosts for just 98. Captain Archie Moore, having lost the toss, said “we would have bowled anyway”, and would have been pleased by the work, not only of Jody, but also Mark Selby (8-4-13-3), Danny Hall (2-13), Casey Roche (1-13) & Zac Gregory (1-8).

Such was the quality of our bowling that the “run-chase” was hardly that – Jody top-scoring with 45 as we got home by 5 wickets with over 32 overs to spare.

Well played indeed, lads – the last 32 awaits!
