Following Friday’s GMCL20 action, when West Wildcats visit Sycamore Park (6pm), there is a busy weekend ahead involving all our Senior teams.
Adam Hawley’s 1st XI will be keen to return to winning ways in the League on Saturday, when Egerton are our visitors for a 1pm start. They are 8th in the League, and come to us on the back of 2 successful run-chases against Greenmount & Edgworth. In fact, all their League matches this season have been won by the side batting second……

Meanwhile, Archie Moore’s 2nd XI hit the road to Werneth CC (Chamber Road, Oldham OL8 1AA), where play is due to start at 1.30pm. It’s a big clash, not only as 3rd hosts 4th, but also because the top 6 in the table are in opposition on Saturday, so a win is important to keep in touch with the leaders, Rochdale Catholic Club who, you may recall, we beat last week – more of the same, please chaps!
On to Sunday, and another home game for the 1st XI, this time in the Lancashire Cricket Foundation KO Cup. It is still a 1pm start, but just 45 overs per side as we welcome Fulwood & Broughton CC, who play in the Northern Premier Cricket League Divison One. Both teams enjoyed home wins in Round One, but the winners on Sunday will have to travel to Netherfield or Ramsbottom in the last 16.

Last, but by no means least, Sunday also sees action for Dan Moriarty’s 3rd XI, as they travel to Europa Exiles, who play at Flowery Field CC (Throstle Bank Street, Hyde SK14 4NT). This 40 overs per side contest begins at 2pm. The hosts have only played once in the League to date, so precious little by way of a form guide, but victory for our youngsters could see us sitting on top of the table on Sunday night.
