Denton St Lawrence CC are delighted to announce that Neil Hornbuckle will again be our overseas professional in 2020.

The 27 year old South African has enjoyed a fine start to life at Sycamore Park, scoring 568 runs (average 81.14) and taking 16 wickets (average 18.63) across all forms of the game, and has been an influential figure in Saints’ successful start to 2019, both on and off the pitch.

Neil told the website, “I couldn’t be happier signing again with DSL for 2020, I have really enjoyed my time on and off the field as it is a great family club and very welcoming . The way the boys go about their cricket on and off the field also was a key aspect.”

Naturally, Club Chairman & 1st XI Captain, Adam Hawley, was pleased to have secured Neil’s services for next year already. He said, “From the moment I met Neil I knew he would be a great fit for us. A genuine guy who is so keen to help others improve, Neil has fitted perfectly into the club and has started the season well himself, as a group we have improved with the help of Neil’s direction and focus so hopefully if we can continue improving we can have a successful season throughout the club.”

Everyone who has seen Neil either on the field or in the nets will know the impact that he has had on the Club already in his first few weeks with us, and his re-engagement for a second season can only be beneficial to DSL.

Keep up the great work in 2019, Neil…..we’re already looking forward to doing it all over again next year!
