After a successful Bank Holiday weekend on the road, Adam Hawley’s 1st XI return to Sycamore Park on Saturday (1pm). The visitors, Premier Division debutants Woodhouses, had rather less fun in last weekend’s sun, losing heavily in both League and Cup, conceding an aggregate of over 450 runs and taking just 4 wickets in the process. In fact, their only win thus far came on the opening day of the season, and that by a solitary wicket at Egerton. Let us hope that our respective streaks are extended on Saturday.

The match ball for this match is kindly sponsored by NG TRANSPORT, providers of first-class transport and warehousing. You can find out more about them here:

Also looking to keep the winning momentum going on Saturday will be Archie Moore’s 2nd XI, when they make the short trip across town to face Denton West (Windsor Road, M34 2HB) at 1.30pm. Our near-neighbours have enjoyed a perfect start to the season in both League & Cup, and no opposition has yet made 100 against them – Archie’s Army, in good spirits following Cup & League success over the last 2 weekends, will be looking to give them their sternest test (and, hopefully, their first taste of defeat!) to date on Derby Day.

On to Sunday, and the 3rd XI head to Bury CC (Radcliffe Road, Bury BL9 9JX) in the 1st round of their Cup competition. Note the 1pm start for this 40 overs per side contest. The hosts have won both games thus far in Division 1B, but Dan Moriarty’s youngsters will endeavour to complete a clean sweep of 1st round Cup successes on the road for our Club.

Good luck to all our teams this weekend!
