No Friday night GMCL20 action for Saints this week, but all 3 of our Senior teams are in action this weekend.
After last week’s defeat against the impressive Clifton, Adam Hawley’s 1st XI face another stern test as they travel to 2017 Champions, Flixton (Lawrence Road, Flixton M41 8UU) at 1pm. The hosts sit third in the League table, 2 places – and a solitary bonus point – above ourselves. Like ourselves, they also suffered only their second defeat of the season last Saturday when, perhaps surprisingly, they were comfortably beaten at Edgworth.
For those wishing to stay closer to home, there is an equally tough game in prospect as Archie Moore’s 2nd XI welcome League leaders Rochdale Catholic Club CC to Sycamore Park for a 1.30pm start. The visitors go into June with their 100% record in tact, but Archie’s team have shown plenty of early-season form themselves, and will be keen to put last weekend’s narrow defeat at Greenfield behind them.

Sunday sees the 3rd XI in action for the second weekend running, as they travel to Radcliffe CC (Homer Street, Radcliffe M26 3RF) in the Per-Fit Sunday Cup. It’s still 40 overs per side, but with a 1pm start, and the hosts advise travelling players / supporters to allow extra journey time due to there being a Carnival in the area this weekend. You may recall that we reached the last 32 with a win at Bury in Round One…..well, Bury beat Radcliffe in Division 1B last Sunday so, if Bury can beat Radcliffe, and we can beat Bury……If only it was that simple!!!!!
