Friday night saw a healthy turnout from the DSL family eat, drink & make merry well into the night at the Premier Lounge for the annual Club Dinner & Senior Presentation Night.
Following a most enjoyable 3-course meal, our incomparable compère for the evening, Ben Tighe, took to the microphone to get the obligatory speeches underway. Chairman Ian Hawley went in to bat first, thanking everyone for their efforts, not only in relation to the cricket season, but also with the off-field events that help to make the Club the family-orientated place that we all know and love.
Then, on to the Captains. Both Adam Hawley and Archie Moore (the latter in his final act as 2nd XI skipper, for Danny Hall will be taking the role on permanently henceforth) reflected on the season behind us, and spoke enthusiastically about the future, giving the now replete gathering an apetite for what may lie ahead next Summer.
And so to the awards themselves. The 2018 DSL Senior Award Winners – including, for the first time, the Under 18’s – were announced & received, either in person or by (occasionally reluctant) proxy, and are as follows:

As the dust settled – not on the trophies, for they are sure to be cherished by their owners – and hangovers of varying degrees were nursed on Saturday (and even Sunday!) consensus was that, in true DSL party style, the evening had been a big success…..let us hope that 2019 brings success both on and off Sycamore Park!
