The 2nd day of the Bank Holiday weekend sees a mixture of Cup & League fixtures – let us hope that neither of our teams needs to make a mayday call…..
The 1st XI begin their Derek Kay Cup campaign with a trip to Egerton CC (Blackburn Road, BL7 9RY). It’s a 1pm start for this 45 overs per side contest where, new for 2019, coloured clothing and a pink ball will be used. Adam Hawley’s team reached the last 8 of the competition last year, and will be keen to go even further this time round.
For those not wishing to brave the weekend traffic, there is a local derby at Sycamore Park, where the 3rd XI welcome Denton CC for a League match with a 2pm start. Like ourselves, our near-neighbours have started 2019 with a win at home and an away defeat – a continuation of that pattern would be most welcome.
